Criteria 

Applicants should achieve at least three Bs at A level (or the international equivalent). For progressing foundation students, you should achieve a minimum 70% average across all modules 

Closing date 

Applications close midnight 31st May 2020

* For students who have commenced foundation level studies, the award will be issued when they succeed to undergraduate level.

How to apply

This scholarship is awarded through competition.

Please complete the following two tasks and submit using the application form:

1. Proof of academic achievement

To enter the competition for the 2020/21 Dean of Humanities, Arts & Social Sciences Excellence Scholarship, you should achieve at least three Bs at A level (or the international equivalent).

You will be required to attach transcripts of your academic qualifications in the application form and also provide the original copies during enrolment.

2. Complete the task(s) below relevant to your degree programme

Fashion and Design

BA (Hons) Fashion Design, BA (Hons) Fashion Design (Marketing) and BA (Hons) Interior Design applicants.

Please submit both of the following:

  • Submit a portfolio of art and design work (electronically, if possible), including research and sketchbook material
  • Explain in 300 words why you wish to study fashion and design at Regent’s University London

BA (Hons) Fashion Marketing, BA (Hons) Fashion Marketing (Buying), BA (Hons) Fashion Marketing (Public Relations) and BA (Hons) Fashion Marketing (Styling) applicants.

Please submit both of the following:

  • Research and write a critical and analytical essay of 1,000 words on the following topic:
    • Choose a luxury fashion brand. Explore how they have used modern technology to market fashion
  • Explain in 300 words why you wish to study fashion marketing at Regent’s University London

Film, Media & Performance

BA (Hons) Acting for Screen and Stage applicants

Please submit both of the following:

  • Research and write a critical and analytical essay of 1,000 words on the following topic:
    • ‘Theatre is a meeting point, a crossroads of cultures.’ Discuss the validity of this statement, referring to specific practitioners or theatre practices
  • Explain in 300 words why you wish to study acting and world theatre at Regent’s University London

BA (Hons) Film and Screen (Film Production) or (TV & Digital Media Production) applicants

Please submit both of the following:

  • Write a 1,000 word treatment for a new television project – fiction, documentary or light entertainment
  • Explain in 300 words why you wish to study film, TV and digital media production at Regent’s University London

BA (Hons) Film and Screen (Screenwriting & Producing) applicants

Please submit both of the following:

  • Write a five-page script on a subject of your own choosing. Make sure the story is concluded so that your piece is not just the opening for a longer project
  • Explain in 300 words why you wish to study screenwriting and producing at Regent’s University London

Liberal Arts & Humanities

BA Liberal Studies applicants

Please submit both of the following:

  • Research and write a critical and analytical essay of 1,000 words on the following topic:
    • What are the benefits of a liberal arts education?
  • Explain in 300 words why you wish to study liberal arts at Regent’s University London
