To help ensure the BA (Hons) Cordwainers courses remain open to talented students, regardless of their background and economic circumstances, The Worshipful Company of Cordwainers are pleased to provide 2 bursaries of £3,000 each.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Bursaries students must be currently enrolled on 1 of the following London College of Fashion (LCF) courses:

  • BA (Hons) Cordwainers Fashion Bags and Accessories.

  • BA (Hons) Cordwainers Footwear.

About

LCF is committed to celebrating diversity and creating a supportive, inclusive environment for students. 2 Cordwainers bursaries of £3,000 each provide much needed support to our students particularly those who progress onto our courses through the LCF outreach programme to encourage widening student participation into higher education. This award contributes to tuition fees and is awarded in the third term of the academic year to ensure that they were awarded more fairly, on the basis of merit (e.g., attendance and effort) as well as financial need.

These awards are presented strictly based on financial need and eligible students either satisfy the University’s hardship fund criteria (involving thorough financial screening) or come via the Widening Participation route. Our Widening Participation programme takes a leading role in raising awareness amongst young people of the importance of higher education, and of fashion education in particular, to encourage them to identify suitable courses of study. The unit runs a range of programmes within disadvantaged areas focusing on East London.
