Value: Your full tuition fee will be waved per year for the duration of the five-year course. Some exclusions apply in relation to re-sit years and in the event of a rise in tuition fees.

Overview

The Medivet Veterinary Student Success Scholarship is awarded annually to one student studying our Bachelor Veterinary Medicine & Surgery (BVMS) degree who may experience significant financial hardship as a result of their study; and/or has faced significant adversity on their route to studying at university.

Eligibility

In order to be considered for the scholarship, you must be applying to join our Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and surgery (BVMS) course and meet at least some of the criteria listed below:

You can demonstrate that you will face significant financial hardship during the BVMS programme or as a result of your study.

You can demonstrate you have faced significant adversity on your journey to becoming a BVMS student, e.g. financial, personal, circumstantial factors.

At the time of application for the BVMS programme you meet some contextual criteria as listed below:

  • Are care experienced or a care leaver

  • Have received free school meals during your secondary education

  • You are the first in your family to attend Higher Education

  • You come from a military family eg service child; service spouse, service leaver

  • You are a member of the Roma, gypsy or travelling communities

  • You are a refugee

As part of the written application you will also need to detail:

  • How you currently intend to pay your tuition fees

  • If you have received a maintenance loan

  • If you have any other sources of income, funding, or support

  • Your accommodation arrangements during your study

  • Any caring responsibility or dependent
