Overview
The University of Liverpool provide thousands of International students with an amazing, life-changing University experience, in a wonderful city with a global reputation for sport, music, architecture and culture. The University is the original ‘red brick’ university, one of six universities founded in the major industrial cities of England in the late 19th and early 20th century, and also a member of the prestigious Russell Group.
The University of Liverpool is ranked in the top 1% of higher education institutions in the world and is home to 22,000 students in total. 85% of international graduates are employed or in further study within 6 months of graduating and, of those who are employed, 89% are working in a graduate level job.
Liverpool offer personalised entrance support into the UK for international students and the student/staff ratio is the 8th best in the Russell Group. The University is ranked 13th in the UK for services and facilities spend per student, and the University are one of the top 25 most targeted universities by leading graduate recruiter organisations in the UK (High Fliers Research).
The University has three campuses, one within the city of Liverpool, a postgraduate taught course only site in London and a pioneering global joint venture partnership with Xi’an Jiaotong University in Suzhou, China. Liverpool is also the only UK university with full clinical education coverage in Biosciences, Clinical Medicine, Health Sciences, Dentistry, Veterinary Science and Tropical Medicine.

Services
The University of Liverpool offers a free transport service from Manchester International Airport to Liverpool for new international students arriving at the start of the academic year. Liverpool offers pre-sessional English courses for up for 40 weeks as well as free in-sessional English language support for either general or specific issues. Academic English classes and one-to-one support are also available.
The University's international support team runs a welcome programme each year which covers all the basics of living in the UK, including talks on UK life, campus tours and help with tasks such as opening a bank account or registering with a doctor, as well as social events.
The Student Administration Centre helps with registration, fees, documentation, loans, grants and exams, and an International Support Team specialises in providing support to all international students from immigration issues, work permits, finance and funding to academic and personal problems.

The University is ranked 20th in the UK for research power and seven subjects are ranked in the top 10 in the UK Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2014 with both Chemistry and Computer Science ranked number one in the UK. 81% of research is ranked ‘world leading’ or ‘internationally excellent’.
Liverpool’s TESOL MA is ranked 9th best in the UK in EL Gazette UK University Centre of Research Excellence list, while the MBA programme is featured in the Economics 'Which MBA?' that lists the top 100 MBA programmes in the world. More than 75% of students receive a First or 2:1 at the University.
Accommodation
If you are a new undergraduate student, the University guarantee to find you a place in University accommodation if you have chosen the University as your 1st "Firm" choice and you have accepted an Unconditional Firm offer or a Conditional Firm offer and you apply for your accommodation no later than 31st August.
Undergraduate students can choose catered accommodation, which for a few pounds extra per week will include a choice of full English breakfast or continental buffet breakfast, fruit, soft drinks and a 3-course dinner. University room rents cover your private study bedroom, utility bills, insurance for your belongings, broadband and use of communal areas.
