Okanagan College is also known to give co-op, field and practicum opportunities to the students so that they are able to learn first-hand. The college believes in being a community of learning, that is strengthened by a rich cultural heritage and academic support.

Accommodation
The Kelowna campus of Okanagan College has a student residence, Skaha Place, which offers an affordable, and convenient option for students. The rooms are available as private studios (single bedroom) and in pod style (five bedrooms per unit). As the space in Skaha Place is limited, students are encouraged to apply early.
Apart from the student residence option, homestays are also available with a local family that is selected by the Okanagan College Education Settlement Team. The Homestay option is available on all the campuses and includes airport pick-up and drop-off at the Kelowna International Airport. The homestay experience proves to be an excellent opportunity for the students to improve their English and adapt to a new environment, while also learning about Canadian culture.
