Overview
Vancouver Film School, a private entertainment arts educational institution located in Vancouver, British Columbia, is one of Canada's best entertainment arts schools.
It was founded in 1987 with six film students and has achieved international recognition. It has become a global leader in entertainment arts education by offering 15 post-secondary programs to more than 1,000 students yearly. At the 20th anniversary of the school in 2007, VFS set aside one million dollars in August 2006 for scholarships to new students.
The school offers hands-on production programs of one-year duration that include Film Production, Classical Animation, 3D Animation & Visual Effects, Acting for Film & Television, Entertainment Business Management, Digital Design, Sound Design for Visual Media, Foundation Visual Art & Design, Makeup Design for Film & Television, Game Design, and Writing for Film and Television. Apart from these year-long programs, the school also runs a six-month Digital Character Animation Program and a four-month Acting Essentials course.

More than 47% of the student population at VFS comprises international students. As the campuses are situated in Vancouver, which has thriving film, game, design, and animation industries, students can take advantage of this aspect and learn from award-winning industry experts of the Hollywood North.
The curriculum at VFS keeps evolving along with the demands of the sector and current best industry practices by cultivating key relationships with major films and TV production studios to make students' experiences world-class.
All international students are mandated to have medical insurance coverage before arriving in Canada to pursue higher education at VFS. They also get banking, social security, and networking opportunities at the school. Various events are organized for career development and education counselling of students by the management of VFS. International students are also given ESL Tutoring to help them better understand and communicate with the technical terms and gain overall fluency in the English Language.

VFS does not provide on-campus accommodation, but as it is located in the middle of Vancouver, many off-campus options are available for students.
