Overview
Blackburn College is a private liberal arts college that is located in Carlinville, Illinois. It was founded in 1837 and is one of the oldest colleges in the state. The college offers a wide range of undergraduate programs in the fields of education, biology, business, sociology, and environmental studies, among others. A Master of Arts in Education degree is also offered, also with the option to join a transfer program at the college.
One of the unique aspects of the college is the nation’s only student-led college employment system, known as the Blackburn College Work Program. The students work at the campus, and all residents at the campus are mandated to work, while for the commuters, this program is optional. All the students who work on campus receive a tuition discount for the hours they put in.

The college has offices of Residence Life, Counseling Services, Student Engagement, Student Success, Disability Services, New Student Orientation, and Campus Community to take care of the aspects of college life for students.

Accommodation
The college offers on-campus housing through six residence halls that have rooms furnished with extra-long twin beds, desks, chairs, dressers, and wardrobes. The halls have common areas, internet access, laundry facilities, and community microwave access for the students.
