Overview
Eureka College is a private educational institution located in Eureka, Illinois. It was founded in 1855 and became the third college in the country to admit men and women on an equal basis. The college offers 32 majors, 19 minors, and 14 pre-professional programs in the fields of Education, Fine & Performing Arts, Humanities, Science & Mathematics, and Social Science & Business, among others. It is also known for being the college that former President Ronald Reagan graduated from.
The curriculum at the college allows students to tailor their learning experience according to their individual needs and interests, all the while acquiring essential skills that are desired by employers. To achieve this, the college offers a unique pathway to let students demonstrate a set of 10 essentials (skills and capabilities) before they graduate. This system enables them to select one or more courses that have been designated to develop that capability.
