Overview
Deakin College is located across three campuses in Victoria – Melbourne Burwood, Geelong Waurn Ponds, and Geelong Waterfront. The Melbourne campus offers a foundation programme and a range of diplomas for students who are aiming for a smooth transition into Deakin University.
The diplomas cover eight subject areas:
- Business
- Commerce
- Communication
- Design
- Engineering
- Film, Television, and Animation
- Health Sciences
- IT
Equivalent to the first year of an undergraduate degree, the diploma programmes offer students innovative teaching and engagement with digital learning technologies. This learning experience prepares students to take the leap to university studies and thrive in their future careers.
Additionally, the Foundation Program at Deakin College is designed for international students and is similar to Year 12, preparing them for entry into first-year university studies. The course consists of either a standard or extended track programme, allowing students to complete their course within a flexible eight to 12-month period, depending on their requirements.
Deakin College also provides various services focusing on language, literacy, and numeracy skills to assist students in their studies. The college intentionally keeps class sizes small, with a maximum of 30 students in diploma classes and 25 in foundation classes, so teachers are able to give the best possible support and attention to each individual student.
