Overview
Operating for 15 years as a leading education and training provider, the Engineering Institute of Technology (EIT) is one of the only institutes in the world specialising in engineering. It delivers certificates, diplomas, advanced diplomas, undergraduate and graduate certificates, bachelor’s and master’s degrees, and a doctorate in engineering to enable students to succeed in modern industries.
EIT’s 85+ engineering courses are taught across three campuses in Australia, located in Brisbane, Melbourne, and Perth. Approximately 1,300 students are enrolled in these courses, representing over 140 countries.
Students can expand their technical knowledge and form industry connections by taking advantage of EIT’s small class sizes, live and interactive webinars, an international pool of expert lecturers, dedicated learning support officers, and state-of-the-art technologies.
At EIT, bachelor’s and master’s students are required to undertake 240 hours of professional Work-Integrated Learning, providing them with a unique opportunity to obtain industry experience. This experience gives students the chance to engage in paid or unpaid internships, site visits, and networking opportunities as they work towards contributing to real-world projects. Students can also take advantage of these opportunities to develop their understanding of professionalism and Australian workplace culture.

Services
EIT offers a range of personal and academic support services designed to help students start their studies in confidence and to nurture success through the duration of their programme.
The college assists international students in their transition to Australia with a pre-departure handbook that includes information on how to prepare for living and studying in the country. An orientation team welcomes international students on campus, helping them explore the facilities, meet new friends, and settle into student life. The orientation also provides international students with details of relevant Australian regulations, transport, health, banking, postal services, and available recreational activities.
Students are supported across the duration of their studies by:
- Dedicated Learning Support Officers (LSOs) who support and encourage students in their academic pursuits
- A committed Student Services team that delivers sensitive and respectful personal and wellbeing support
- Student success workshops covering areas such as time management and test preparation
Through these support services, students can get the help they need to get accustomed to their life in Australia, build their academic skills, and thrive throughout their higher education journey.

Accommodation
EIT provides free advice to international students for finding appropriate and convenient homestays, rental accommodation, and temporary short-term lodging such as hostels or serviced apartments.
The three campuses in Brisbane, Melbourne, and Perth are all conveniently located within short distances to their respective city centres, allowing students to choose from a wide variety of housing options. International students usually choose to share a rental property with peers to make living costs affordable.
