International Secondary School Merit Scholarship

ISLA, formerly known as the International Secondary School Merit Scholarship (ISSMS), is for undergraduate international students. Applicants must be starting their first year of a full-time four-year undergraduate degree at TMU. It’s for students who do well academically, volunteer, join clubs and show leadership qualities.

The fall 2025 ISLA has a value of $5,000. The possible number of recipients is up to seven students. This award is entrance-only and is non-renewable.

Key points to remember:

  • You must be an international student starting your first year of a full-time four-year undergraduate degree.

  • You must have a final admission average of at least 85%, an A, or an equivalent.

  • You must write a personal statement for submission.

  • If a gap year was taken, it must be no longer than one academic year.
