Overview
Towson University is a public university located in the city of Towson, Maryland. It was founded in 1866 as Maryland's first training school for teachers and is now a part of the University System of Maryland. The university is accredited by the Maryland State Department of Education and the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.
Through its eight colleges and thirty academic departments, the university offers 110 undergraduate majors and over 89 graduate degrees and certifications. Over 20,000 full-time and part-time students are currently enrolled in the university, which also includes over 800 international students from more than 100 countries.
Services
The university provides a host of services to students through dedicated offices and divisions that include guidance in residential living, banking, financial aid, health and wellness, counselling services, accessibility and disability services, child care, computing services, and much more. The International Student and Scholar Office can be reached out to by foreign students needing guidance on matters of immigration, part-time jobs, and any other thing they need assistance with.

Accommodation
The university offers housing options to over 5,000 students among all four classes, and around 74% of the freshman class stays on campus. Towson University has 16 residence halls that include modern high-rise towers, apartment complexes, and traditional residential buildings. While living on campus, students get access to the health centre, career centre, counselling centre and academic advising centre.
