Overview
The University of Massachusetts Boston is one of the public research universities in the US that is located in the city of Boston, Massachusetts. It was founded in 1852 as Boston State College and is currently the third most diverse university in the United States. Being the only public research university in Boston, it attracts students from Massachusetts and other states as well, apart from international students.
The university offers various bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees through its eleven schools and colleges. UMass Boston also operates certificate programs and other corporate, continuing and distance learning programs. The major fields of study at the university include arts and sciences, nursing and health sciences, education and human development, mathematics and much more.
Services
The university provides a wide array of resources and services to ensure that students live, learn and enjoy their university years. There are health and wellness services, including options for school insurance to gain access to University Health Services in the state and other parts of the country. Accommodation
The University of Massachusetts Boston provides on-campus and off-campus housing facilities to students in and around the campus. The on-campus housing is basically available for undergraduate students, with priority given to incoming first-time students. The housing is available on a first-come, first-serve basis to the students who wish to take up the option of staying in the residence halls of the university.
