Overview
Virginia Wesleyan University is a private university located in Virginia Beach, Virginia. It was established in 1961 and annually enrolls approximately 1600 students in its traditional learning and online learning courses. The education delivery at the university is rooted in liberal arts tradition and also has Methodist heritage, due to which the students are provided with a broad academic foundation while also cultivating engaged citizens.
The educational institution has organized its academic programs into distinct schools that include the Susan S. Goode School of Arts and Humanities, the Birdsong School of Social Science, Batten Honors College, D. Henry Watts School of Professional Studies, University College, and the Joan P. Brock School of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. The schools offer undergraduate and graduate degrees in various disciplines.

Accommodation
The Office of Residence Life takes care of the campus living experience of students, who can choose from the various residence halls. Two of the four villages for housing on campus are modelled after Thomas Jefferson's Oxford-Cambridge plan and have classrooms, students residences and faculty offices. Living in the residence halls enables students to gain educational, cultural, social and recreational enrichment while pursuing their education.
