Overview

Since 1975, Griffith University has focused its teaching and research on tackling critical social and environmental challenges, with degrees designed to create meaningful social impact. At Griffith, students are encouraged to become solution-focused in the face of societal, economic, cultural, technological, and environmental change.

Students can choose from more than 200 degrees across diverse study areas – from music, design, and the performing arts to environmental science, engineering, and IT. The university is particularly recognised for its pioneering work in modern Asian studies and environmental science. Dedicated support services are available to assist students at every stage of their university experience, from application to graduation and beyond.

Despite being a relatively young institution, Griffith has earned global recognition for its commitment to sustainable development. In the 2024 Times Higher Education Impact Rankings – which assess performance against the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) – Griffith ranked 24th out of 2,152 universities worldwide.
