Overview
The Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) is a speciality polytechnic institute located in Calgary, Canada. It is Calgary’s second oldest post-secondary institution and is the country’s first publicly funded technical educational institution. It was founded in 1916 with 11 students, with the mandate to train veterans returning from the First World War.
Today SAIT offers more than 110 career programs at various levels in technology, trades and business domains. The education at SAIT is action-based and the research is solution focused. The industry partnerships (more than 11,000) that the institute has makes it easy for the students to become the next generation of entrepreneurs, inventors and pioneers. The students at SAIT are equipped with career-building essential skills that make them ready for the industry.

Services
SAIT attracts students from more than 150 countries who come to gain knowledge and hands-on training through the various programs at the institute. The International Students have access to SAIT’s International Centre, from where they can get all the relevant information and support to easily transition to a new life in a new country. Rankings
SAIT was one of three Canadian schools to make the top 100 of CEOWORLD Magazine's Best Business Schools in the World for 2021, while the SAIT School of Hospitality and Tourism was also ranked 1st in Canada in a CEOWORLD Magazine 2021 ranking.
Accommodation
Residence options available to students at SAIT include two modern high rises which are located in the northeast corner of the main campus.
Students are given a lifestyle and privacy that provides them with the perfect environment to have a fulfilling stay. A robust residence community that has 24-hour campus security is always there for the students who get individual agreements based on their specific program dates. The residence also has dedicated study areas, and the interested candidates can also get employment opportunities. The campus has various eatery options as well.
