Overview
Established in 1982, Cape Breton University was the first university college in Canada. Initially founded as a college in 1974, Cape Breton is known for innovative economic development, indigenous learning leadership, suitability programs, and professional courses. This University is an ideal choice for international students to adapt to cross-cultural learning. Here, liberal arts, health, and business are taught as professional courses.
At Cape Breton, students can choose from five branches of academic programs- the School of Arts and Social Science, the Shannon School of Business, the School of Science and Technology, the School of Education and Health, and the School of Nursing. Available programs include undergraduate, graduate, online education and pre-professional
courses.
International students from over 50 countries make up the student population and at Cape Breton the Careers team works with students to develop the key skills required to become a success in the 21st century workplace.

In January, May, and September, orientation events are held by the university, which helps in meeting the staff and delivering information on financial aid and student support. Before every semester, the University delivers students the privilege to understand the University and its facilities more accurately.

At Cape Breton University, there are four residential halls available for international students: MacDonald Residence, Alumni Hall, Cabot Residence, and Harriss Hall. Students have several housing options to select from, including shared flats and dorm rooms.
These residential halls provide services like laundry, shared living rooms, shared kitchens, private or shared washrooms, and shared pantry. The keys to the rooms and hall are all electronic for the utmost security of the students.
