Overview
Located on Treaty One Island, the University of Winnipeg is 145 years old and home to a compact community of students. Winnipeg emphasises multicultural diversity and academic excellence among its students and professors and is home to over 1,600 international students from more than 90 countries.
The University offers more than 400 courses in over 50 different subject areas. Undergraduate, graduate, pre-professional, applied, and joint programs in other disciplines are available at Winnipeg. 95% of Winnipeg graduates are employed within two years of graduation.
Winnipeg is Canada’s 7th largest city with a population of just under a million people and Winnipeg's campus is located in the centre of the city meaning you can make the most of your time at the University. Mentor and student service programs will ensure you have all the support that is required to enjoy your stay at Winnipeg.
Services
The University of Winnipeg offers international students academic counselling, health insurance, study permit and visa, mentorship, and employment services. Student wellness services are also provided to help the students settle comfortably. Additionally, deaf, hard hearing and accessibility services are offered to students with disabilities and those suffering from medical conditions.
Winnipeg conducts mandatory in-person orientations for international students as it makes them aware of various topics related to health insurance, immigration, academics and more. An optional Winnipeg bus tour is also provided to students.
Airport reception services are offered to international students visiting Winnipeg for their first study term. For airport pickup, students must notify the university at least seven days before their scheduled arrival.

Accommodation
Two residence halls are available at the University of Winnipeg and students can choose different rooms and meal plans as per their requirements. Furnished dorms are available in McFeetors Hall, and shared houses with private rooms are available in Balmoral Houses. Additionally, private bedroom apartments are available for students who are single parents or live with their partners.
Though international students can apply for accommodation, there is no guarantee that every student will be accommodated. Rooms are limited and offered on a first-come-first-serve basis. Besides accommodation, Diversity Food Services are offered to students of varied diet preferences.
