Overview
Dublin City University is a globally recognised university committed to excellence and talent development through its academic and operational excellence fundamentals. DCU’s strategic objective is to gain recognition as an International University of Enterprise and to equip students with the requisite skills and knowledge to meet the challenges of the 21st century.
Dublin City University was initially established to fulfil the national requirement for a highly skilled workforce in business, science and electronics, computer technology, communications, and languages.
DCU was the first university in Ireland to introduce work placement as part of its degree programmes. DCU degrees were also the first to be interdisciplinary, for example, studying business alongside languages. Many DCU students study at universities in Spain, France, Germany, and Austria as part of their degree programmes under Erasmus exchange agreements.
Services
Dublin City University provides language translation services and an Inter Faith Centre for its students, while the sports centre offers access to a spa, sauna, pool, and fitness centre.
