The University of Sunderland has secured up to four £10,000 scholarships for new students studying MSc Applied Data Science in September 2022.

Students who successfully apply for a scholarship will receive £10,000 cash to help towards the cost of tuition fees, living costs and other associated costs.

Eligibility criteria and selection process:

Successful applicants will be provided with a £10,000 scholarship which will be paid in three instalments throughout the duration of the course. The scholarship will only be awarded to students who enrol on the University of Sunderland MSc Applied Data Science course, however this scholarship must be applied for separately.

Before applying, please ensure that you meet at least one of the eligibility criteria below and can provide evidence if requested.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Female

  • Black (as defined by HESA Ethnicity Codes )

  • Have a registered disability

  • Students from areas of the UK where young people are less likely to progress to higher education (POLAR4 Quintiles 1 and 2)

  • Care experienced

  • Estranged from both parents/carers

  • Gypsy, Roma, Traveller, Showman or Boater

  • Refugee

  • Young people from military families, veterans, and partners of military personnel

All applications will be assessed, and priority will be given to those who meet the criteria above. Applicants who do not meet the criteria will not be considered for the scholarship. Priority will also be given to students’ resident in the UK, but not exclusively so.
