This scholarship is for applicants who are nationals of India, are classified as ‘Overseas’ for fee purposes and have been accepted to study an eligible Masters course at Sussex.

What you get

£4,000.

Tuition fee reduction.

Who is eligible

To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:

  • Be a national of India.

  • Be classified as ‘overseas’ for fee purposes.

  • Be taking up a place on an eligible full-time Masters degree, starting September 2025.

  • Be self-financing.

Students with an offer to study in the University of Sussex Business School will be able to combine this scholarship with the Business School International Masters Award (2025). Students with an offer to study in the School of Engineering & Informatics will be able to combine this scholarship with the Engineering & Informatics International Masters Award (2025).

Who isn’t eligible

You are not eligible for this scholarship if your full tuition fees will be paid to the university by a sponsor (and you are exempt from paying a tuition fee deposit).

You are not eligible for this scholarship if you are progressing from the University of Sussex International Study Centre (ISC).

You are not eligible for this scholarship if you are going to study any of the following:

  • Certificates and Diplomas (including PGCE).

  • Courses at Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS).

  • Courses at IDS.

  • Early Years Education (with Early Years Teacher status).

  • Degrees in Social Work (if receiving an NHS bursary).

  • Online courses.

  • School direct teaching courses.

  • Masters funded by the research councils (e.g. ESRC 1+3 funding).

As this scholarship is funded by the University of Sussex, it is not possible to combine this with other Sussex scholarships (e.g. Chancellor’s International Scholarship).
