USA student visa types
This visa is for international students who want to study full-time at an accredited USA college, university, or other recognised academic institution. The course must lead to a degree, diploma, or certificate.
This visa allows the spouse and children of F-1 student visa holders to join them in the USA.
F-2 visa holders are not permitted to work or enrol in full-time academic programmes. However, children can attend primary or secondary school, and adult dependents may take non-vocational or recreational courses.
Children aged 19 years old and under can join their parents (the student visa holder) in New Zealand and stay for as long as the parent’s visa allows.
