Overview
TasTAFE is Tasmania’s largest registered provider of vocational education and training, with a strong track record of supporting students in achieving their career goals. The institute operates across 16 campuses and training facilities throughout Tasmania and offers a variety of delivery modes, including online courses, community and regionally-based programmes, workplace and apprenticeship training, as well as self-paced and evening classes.
TasTAFE’s 200+ nationally accredited and industry-endorsed qualifications range from Certificate I to Advanced Diploma. Students can also upskill by taking short courses across multiple core industries like nursing and healthcare, cookery, IT, and business. Regardless of the course they study, students can access hands-on, practical training, allowing them to be job-ready in their chosen field.
Additionally, TasTAFE maintains strong partnerships with local businesses and industry, ensuring training remains relevant, up-to-date, and aligned with employer expectations. Services
TasTAFE’s student support services are designed to help students achieve their study and career goals. For international students, dedicated International Student Advisors provide assistance throughout their education and training journey, working to make their stay in Tasmania both productive and enjoyable.
Advisors reach out to students before they arrive in Tasmania with important information about orientation and course start dates, and can also assist with practical matters such as accommodation and transport options.
TasTAFE also has dedicated English Language and Learning Support Teachers (ELLSTs) based in Hobart and Launceston. These teachers offer ongoing support in English language development and study skills throughout a student’s time at TasTAFE. Support is available through flexible one-on-one appointments or small group tutorials, covering areas such as English proficiency, cultural competence, and academic success strategies.

Accommodation
Students at TasTAFE can choose from a variety of accommodation options in Tasmania, based on their lifestyle preferences and budget. The institute offers two on-campus residences – one at the Clarence Campus in Hobart and the other at the Alanvale Campus in Launceston. These residences are clean, comfortable, and affordable, and include:

- Recreational facilities like table tennis and pool tables
